Person killed in rollover crash in east Charlotte, police say

Victim identified as 24-year-old man

Crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on Albemarle Road

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person is dead after a rollover crash in east Charlotte early Sunday morning, police said.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on Albemarle Road near Sharon Amity Road.

Police said a 24-year-old man was driving a 2008 Honda Accord when he lost control of the vehicle and ran off the road.

The car then overturned and the driver was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not yet released the victim's name.

The crash is under investigation.
