College Republicans National Committee Faces Secession

New York Federation of College Republicans Votes to Withdraw

Growing Divide Between National and State Chapters

In a breaking political development, the New York Federation of College Republicans has voted to secede from the national College Republican National Committee (CRNC). The decision reflects a growing divide between the national organization and its state chapters, particularly over issues related to LGBTQ rights and diversity.

The College Republicans is the oldest and largest conservative youth political organization in the United States. Founded in 1892, the CRNC has been a prominent force on college campuses for over a century. In recent years, however, the organization has faced criticism from some state chapters for its perceived lack of inclusivity and its stance on social issues.

The New York Federation's vote to secede follows a similar move by the College Republicans of California in 2020. Both state chapters cited concerns about the national organization's direction and its failure to represent the views of their members.
