WEB Jagmeet Singh has emerged as a prominent figure in Canadian politics. As the leader of the New Democratic Party (NDP), he has played a significant role in shaping the party's agenda and advocating for the interests of working-class Canadians.
Singh's political journey began with his involvement in the Ontario NDP, where he ran as a candidate in the 2011 provincial election. He was elected to the House of Commons in 2013, representing the riding of Burnaby South in British Columbia.
In 2017, Singh was elected leader of the NDP, becoming the first person of color to lead a major federal party in Canada. Under his leadership, the NDP has experienced a resurgence, winning several key by-elections and increasing its presence in the House of Commons.
